Coming Out Stories in ‘Across the Kitchen Table’ Performance

From The Lowestoft Journal: The performance of 'Across the Kitchen Table' will take place at the Seagull Theatre in Pakefield. Real life stories of coming out are set to be told in a one-off theatre performance. In celebration of LGBT History Month starting on February 1, the project is the work of Access Community Trust after they teamed up with Lowestoft-based LGBT youth group BLAH and students from Ormiston Denes Academy. The 7.30pm performance of ‘Across the Kitchen Table’ on Saturday, February 3 at the Seagull Theatre in Pakefield will consist of a series of monologues and other brave accounts of coming out. Lee Johnson, arts and culture education coordinator for Access Community Trust, said: “It is vitally important that young people share their experiences with the wider public to make people aware of the issues that still face people who identify as LGBT+. “The young people have been great in telling each other their stories and researching accounts from across the globe.” Tickets costing £5 can be purchased via the Seagull Theatre website, by calling 01502 589726, or on the door.
